The flowering of plants in response to changes in day length and temperature is controlled by three intricate signaling pathways. In this Perspective, Devlin and Kay examine new research (Samach et al.) that shows how signals from the three pathways converge on the promoters of several key genes to bring about flowering in the model plant Arabidopsis.
