Endocrine System Â“HouseÂ” Project
This is an activity in which students research a selected disorder, create a patient, & present their findings to the class. With the popularity of the TV show, House, I have used it as a teaching resource throughout the school year in my Anatomy & Physiology classes. My students are familiar with the format. This activity has student groups taking on the role of Dr. House and his medical team. Instead of diagnosing a patient first, the Â“teamÂ” researches their disorder and then creates a patient with this disorder. The project culminates in the student teams presenting their patient to the class in a variety of formats Â– all of which have to be as a Â“House-likeÂ” team. While the activity is written for the endocrine system, you could use it with any of them.
