Everything You Would Like to Know About Wnt Signaling

Wnt signaling is among the handful of key signaling pathways that play roles in almost all aspects of metazoan biology. Wnt signaling regulates normal embryonic development, tissue homeostasis, and regeneration, and the pathway is highly conserved throughout evolution. Aberrations of Wnt signaling cause various diseases, including cancer. Because of this diversity of functions, research on Wnt signaling has emerged from a discipline of specialists initiated some 30 years ago into the realm of many life science investigators. A plethora of papers dealing with Wnt signaling are published every year, making it difficult for both established investigators and newcomers to keep abreast of all developments in the field. The new book Wnt Signaling, published by Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Press and edited by Roel Nusse, Xi He, and Renée van Amerongen, provides a collection of excellent reviews that cover biochemical, functional, and pathophysiological aspects of Wnt signaling.
