A Progress Report on Translational Control in Eukaryotes

An extraordinary amount of regulation goes into making sure that protein expression is controlled correctly. Several layers of regulation function to achieve the proper levels and proper timing of protein expression. Much is known about the protein machinery involved in translation, but we are lagging behind in understanding the mechanisms of control in eukaryotes.
